Financial Analyst - Hybrid
Position Summary
Reporting to the Controller, the Financial Analyst plays a critical role in driving financial transparency and measuring performance across our cafés, retail operations, and corporate functions. This position is responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, providing forecasting support with actionable insights to leadership. The role will work closely with cross-functional teams while proactively identifying opportunities to enhance financial systems, processes, and reporting quality. As a team-player, you roll up your sleeves to ensure the job gets done. This is a full-time position.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis

Prepare financial reporting and analysis on monthly performance and performing variance analysis against various benchmarks (budget, prior year, forecast) across the full financial statements

Develop and deliver reporting packages with clear insights and recommendations

Analyze departmental level metrics across the entire P&L including sales, labour, COGS, inventory, and profitability

Contribute to executive financial reporting packages including operational KPIs and performance dashboards
Budgeting & Forecasting

Partner with cross-functional teams to support budget and forecast cycles

Maintain and continuously improve templates, models, and reporting tools

Provide forward-looking analytics to support strategic decisions
Period Close & Accounting Support

Ownership over the monthly close calendar tasks to deliver reliable and accurate financial statements in a timely manner

Prepare complex journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis

Assist with requests and financial support schedules for external parties (auditors, CRA, etc.)
Data, Systems & Process Improvement

Create value-added analysis and visual reporting for leadership

Identify, lead, and execute simplification and automation initiatives for operational and financial business processes

Maintain strong data integrity across finance systems

Support internal control processes, including sample reviews of AR, AP, and JE
Cross-Functional Collaboration

Serve as a financial partner to Operations, Supply Chain, HR, and other teams

Translate financial results into actionable communications for non-finance stakeholders

Perform ad-hoc financial modeling and business analysis as required
Qualifications

1–3 years of financial analyst or similar experience, including exposure to monthly close and forecasting

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, or Accounting

CPA designation completed or actively in progress strongly preferred

Advanced Excel skills; experience with Power BI and NetSuite considered strong assets

Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data and provide insightful recommendations

Strong communication skills — confident presenting to leaders across the business
