Balzac’s Coffee Roasters is recognized as Toronto’s Greenest Coffee Shop-Roaster by Live Green Toronto, an initiative that aims to make the city one of the world’s greenest by ​reducing its environmental footprint.

Balzac’s, an industry leader in sustainable food service, is committed to providing diligently-sourced products and ingredients. The company is ​LEAF (Leaders in Environmentally Accountable Foodservice) certified, upholding ​environmentally-responsible food service practices to reduce its impact.

Founder and President, Diana Olsen, says “Balzac’s is honoured to be recognized as a local leader in sustainability. We are proud of our heritage as a company that has tried our best to partake in responsible business practices that reduce or offset our environmental footprint.

The g​rowing boutique coffee chain has embedded sustainability practices into the core of its  brand since ​opening its first cafe location in 1996 in Stratford, Ontario.

The Live Green Toronto initiative aims to make the City of Toronto one of the greenest cities in the world through programs, grants, incentives, and resources to engage the community in helping to #TransformTO ​by ​accelerating the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
