BALZAC’S WATERLOO OFFICIAL OPENING

What a wonderful time at the Balzac’s Waterloo Official Opening Party and Poster Unveiling! We are thrilled to celebrate our 13th café location in this thriving city! Thank you to all who attended and made this event extra special! Our new poster, inspired by the Waterloo tech community and our Vintage Android Art junkbot named Joe, is designed by our president, Diana Olsen, and illustrated by the talented Alayna Paquette. It also offers a sneak peak of our new cup design!

In support of the vibrant tech & art scenes in Waterloo, donations were presented to University of Waterloo’s Robots Team and the Button Factory Arts Centre! With the help of everyone who attended, we were also able to raise $500 for the Food Bank of Waterloo Region. which will help provide 1,500 meals for those in need. Donating even $1 can provide 3 healthy meals!

Special thanks to these local dignitaries for their support:
Sarah Milne from office of Honorable Bardish Chagger, MP Waterloo
Sydney Piatkowski from office of Catherine Fife, MPP Waterloo
Mayor Dave Jaworsky, City of Waterloo
Mayor Berry Vrbanovic, City of Kitchener
Chief Bryan Larkin, Waterloo Regional Police
Councillor Diane Freeman, City of Waterloo-Ward 4
Councillor Jeff Henry, City of Waterloo-Ward 6
Councillor Melissa Durrell, City of Waterloo-Ward 7

And a huge thank you to our vendors:
